USCIS is increasing the validity periods for certain Employment Authorization Documents (EAD)

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced an update on the

validity period for initial and renewal Employment Authorization Documents (EAD). USCIS

announced that their new policy is to increase the validity period to 5 years for certain eligible

immigrants. Noncitizens who were paroled, refugees, granted asylum, and recipients of

withholding of removal are eligible under this new policy. The increase in the validity period will

reduce the wait time for processing these applications.
