CONGRESS MUST ACT NOW TO HELP DREAMERS

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival Program, also known as DACA, is currently in danger. Since it was created in 2012 by President Barack Obama, the undocumented immigrants who were brought into the country as children have been living in an uncertain battle for years. Since the November election, DACA recipients thought they finally had a shot for stability. However, in a lawsuit led by Texas, Judge Andrew Hanen granted a request to block new applications and basically returned DACA to its previous state during the Trump administration. States like Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, South Carolina, and West Virginia all joined Texas as plaintiffs in the lawsuit. As of July 23, 2021, Nancy Pelosi stated that the Democrats would try everything to ensure that the Dream and Promise Act becomes a law to protect DACA recipients. Currently, DACA is an executive order that is not supported by a bill that passed through Congress and became law. The uncertainty regarding DACA , continues and DACA recipients will continue to live with this until Congress passes a bill. If you or anyone you know is a part of DACA or has any questions regarding DACA, please get in touch with Pikes Peak Immigration to schedule a consultation.
